Notice the roll of what seems fat at the shoulder/back and lack of
definition in muscles. The belly 'may' be a little underttucked but can't
really tell but that isnt all the story.

Note the defined muscles, especially in the legs. Back leg most apparent.
Cash *is* a little over by 5 lbs estimate from the vet but he's got that
almost human 'cut chest' look and the defininition at the back. Vet classed
him as 'overweight' but definately not obese. He is probably 8-9% over
optimal which is *not* good due to his other medical issues but he's
trimming down nicely.
The problem with just judging weight on Cash is exercise (good for him if at
his level of tolerance) makes him translate that fat to muscle so he can be
'perfect' at 54lbs or a little over at 52.
Hehe we are gauging this slowly with assistance. I get free use of the
weigh machine at the vets so we are bringing him over every 2-3 weeks for a
check now (as of last vet visit). >> Stay informed about: Canine obesity |

Discussing the points to look for to tell on another body structure is wrong
to you?

Again, discussion of the points to look for (with that dog shape but in
general terms) may help another. >> Stay informed about: Canine obesity |

You may find a peek at Doxies 'interesting' on that one. >> Stay informed about: Canine obesity |

Why would they be different? They should also have a tucked waist and you
should be able to easily feel their ribs - no fat layers. It's true that
they are commonly overweight, though, and suffer lots of back problems
because of it. >> Stay informed about: Canine obesity |
